Interceptor Drains

EZflow can be used to intercept groundwater movement toward an area where water table control is essential. Elevation must be lower than protected area. Aggregate should extend upward to intercept all moving water.

In areas of high ground water, seepage from slopes created during development may cause erosion of slopes. EZflow interceptor drains can prevent this erosion by diverting high ground water to a safe outlet. Subsurface drainage such as EZflow interceptor drains need to be installed with an even downward slope toward an outlet. Minimum slope should be about 1" per 10'.

This may require the use of a builder's level and level rod. A barrier over, or no more than three-quarters around, the
EZflow units may be required to prevent sand-like soils from entering the EPS aggregate. The type of barrier can be untreated building paper, filter fabric, newspaper, or straw and should be selected based on site conditions. Local practices in similar applications and soils may be a guide as to the type of barrier that should be used. Check your local codes before proceeding.
